Greg Spadavecchia rides like a maniac!

Thanks Greg, for this account of your insanity:

He finishes with a mileage count of “2-3-5”

Saturday, June 16

  • Total Miles:  235.15
  • Start time: 6:20am
  • End time:   8:00pm
  • Total hours at work/(play?):  13:40:11 (13 hours, 40 minutes, 11 seconds)
  • Hours on the bicycle (excluding stops):  13:01
  • Minutes off to get drinks, etc:  39
  • # of stops all together: 8
  • # of pedal revolutions:  55,380 (avg. cadence = 71*60*13)
  • Max. Speed:  53.8mph
  • Avg. speed while riding:  18.0

My previous record of 211 miles in one day has now been shattered.  Since I am my toughest competition, there is a tremendous thrill in beating my younger self.  I feel like that “frosh” runner I was once called at High Point High School (where I got my HS Diploma) and that feeling of being an underdog at an older age is fueling these records.  It was enjoyable finishing the first century near High Point High School.

I am simply fulfilling my obligation to get the best from myself.

PS:  The following are pictures of my cyclometer that illustrate the results... and after all, it is the results that we are after…..right?

Crazy......
